The Making of "Untitled"
Untitled" is a multi-channel audiovisual installation that dissolves the conventional boundaries of spatial storytelling. Through an innovative compositional technique, four distinct narrative scenes converge into a single, ethereal dreamscape—a minimalist void presided over by the ambivalent presence of de Kapitein.
Filmed across an eight-day period spanning two months, the work manifests as a meditation on surreal disquiet. At its core is a six-channel soundscape that encircles viewers in a rotating sphere of audio, created through spatial ambisonic techniques and crafted within DaVinci Resolve.
The installation premiered at ArtEZ Enschede (June-August 2023) as a culminating final project, where the interplay of visual minimalism and complex spatial audio created an encompassing environment that challenged traditional notions of cinematic space and storytelling.
